New install of Windows 10. Not able to install NVidia drivers. GPU running really HOT! 🔥:dizzy:

After installing windows onto a new ssd, windows starts updating. Meanwhile I'm trying to get the graphics drivers installed too.
Every time I get an error, INVIDIA installer cannot continue. Other installations are running. Finish the other installations then try again. This DCH driver package in not compatible with the currently installed version of windows. :anguished:
Windows preparing to install updates is taking FOREVER! I think my GPU will POP from the heat!

Please can't someone help me!!! :tired:

install motherboard chipset driver?

did you use the latest windows 10 iso from MS website?
sound like you need to wait for the windows 10 update to get to the latest before you can install gpu driver
Hi rgd1101

Ya, MoBo drivers installed.
I had them all saved on a separate drive. Installed windows from disc then got updates.
But for some strange reason i couldn't install the nvidia drivers. All the while windows was updating & installing it's updates it ran my gpu really hot. It used windows display graphics? to run everything at low resolution.
I had to stick it out. It's all up to date now and working fine.
It seems windows updates doesn't give you your graphics drivers first so that you can use your gpu before installing it's updates.

Thanks for wanting to help.
