My computer has a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G at a clock speed of 3.9GHz.

ConvertXtoDVD, a converter of video files to DVDs, is encoding videos at 55 degrees Celsius. I have set it to encode one video clip at a time with a single core.

Is that too high for a single core conversion?

Why? Would that lower the temperature? Will that be faster?

I know, I know, newbie question. but I can't afford to splurge my CPU resources at this point. My case is a <Mod Edit> one with bad air flow. The only reason I use it is that it includes a 5" drive bay, which I actually use, believe it or not.

It would be faster, and I doubt it would cause the processor to reach the maximum operating temperature. If anything you could also disable turbo boost in Windows which would likely make the whole process more efficient.
