I've been having problems with my FX-8350 over the last month or so with it running way under clocked for no real reason I could work out.
It used to run anywhere from 4-4.4GHz depending on what I was doing but now it sits at 3.3GHz whether it's idle on the desktop, rendering video or playing games. I enabled "X-Boost" on boot now and it bumps it up to 3.6GHz.
I thought it may have been thermal throttling so I bumped the limit up a few degrees to 58 Celsius now, but it only ever hits 48-50 Celsius but never much more.
It's been set to auto in all aspects in the bios and software since I put the system together 2 years ago.
Have no idea where to even start looking to try figure it out so any ideas will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Specs are
M/B: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8350
COOLER: Hyper 212 Evo
Probably unrelated but
GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 8GB Corsair Pro Vengeance 1866mhz
OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
No idea how to mark solved so added to title
