Hi all,

[SOLVED] set fps_max to lower, default is 300 [SOLVED]

I own a GE62-2QE-Apache-Pro with :

  • Quad-core 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-4720HQ
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M
    8GB of RAM.
    Windows 10
I have been able to play games such as Witcher3, Dark Souls3 decently. Also I play DOTA2 on max graphics without any lags or overheating.

However, only in CS:GO the laptop is struggling even with the lowest settings. After approx 20 mins of play it becomes too hot and i begin to notice FPS drops probably due to that. Friends of mine with worse machines ( although desktops) are able to run it smoothly.

I have tried the following without good results:

  • Settings every video setting on CS:GO to the lowest possible.
Setting CS:GO to run only from the GPU ( and not the on intel on board graphics card)
Running CS:GO with compatibility mode ( Windows 8)
    Install latest Nvidia drivers
Make sure Windows Game Bar and DVR are disabled.
Any ideas are welcome.

Thank you in advance, Dimitris

Hi Robert, I used HWmonitor while attempting to fix the issue earlier this week(https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html)
I noticed that CPU reached 90 C temperatures which is more than normal imo.

I will also use your software and post some answers here tomorrow if this is not enough.
