[SOLVED] [solved] Installation second M.2 SSD NVMe - Second M.2 slot not working

Hello and thanks for helping

I have a laptop with 2 M.2 slots and one Sata port, one M.2 slot filled with SSD NVMe Samsumg 951 (128go) and the SATA plug to and HDD

I recently bought a second M.2 SSD NVMe Samsung 970 EVO (250go) and tried the plug in to the second slot without success

The BIOS doesn't see the new SSD, so I plug the new one to the first slot and the computer can see it (second slot empty).

I tried to plug the old SSD (951 samsumg) to the second slot with the first slot empty, and no luck, the computer can't recognized the disk.

So I might presume that the second M.2 slot might be faulty

I never tried to plug anything on the second port until today

If someone can help me on this matter !

Are you 100% sure both m.2 ports are NVMe capable?
Not all are.

Your user manual should outline this.

I bought the computer from PCSpecialist in 2015 and the user manual is practically useless, no info on that, but it might explain this...

A laptop from 2015 may well have only a single NVMe capable m.2 port.
The other might be SATA only.

It might also be SATA and tied together with the SATA port, so it's one or the other.

there are no particular marking on the port, they look the same, same number written on the slot

and if the slot only support Sata, any SSD NVMe drive will not work or only at the Sata speed ??
