You need to use not only the Display ports, but also the USB controller ports that are supplied with the KVM.
Seems kinda obvious now, but in case anyone tries to use one of these things, that's the issue.

I'm using an 8 input Manhattan KVM for work and this is the second one to not recognize the keyboard and mouse.
Very frustrating as I need to build around 10 machines a day. This may be pretty far out there for a Tom's issue, but hopefully someone has had experience w these things.

--- I read an article claiming it doesn't like USB 3.0, so I tried an older 2.0 mouse and keyboard, but to no avail.

More information needed.

"8 input" KVM meaning that you using one keyboard, one mouse, and one monitor to control 8 computers - correct?

Are you connecting 8/10 machines to the KVM and then selecting machines to install and configure software as necessary?

Not sure about your use of "SOLVED".

How does using DP ports and USB controller ports solve the problem? Model has HDMI...

You did not have the keyboard and mouse connections to the KVM? Why not? That kind of defeats the purpose of the KVM with using a keyboard and mouse.

You do need those USB connections for the KVM that is actually how they get power to run the port.
