Question [Solved] Microphone driver not working

I have a Maono mic which uses the default windows microphone driver, and it started not working recently. I tested the mic on a different computer and it worked fine, so I assume that it is the driver. I did the trick of uninstalling the driver then plugging the mic out and back in, and that did not work. Does anybody have any ideas?

Try running the built in Windows Audio troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

How was the driver uninstalled and reinstalled?

Download the drivers directly from the microphone's manufacturer's website. Manually install the drivers and reconfigure as necessary.

No third party tools or installers.

This microphone does not have a manufacturer driver, however I did figure out the issue. I went into sound control panel and on properties for the microphone I checked under levels to find that for some reason the mic's levels had been set to zero. Putting them back up fixed the issue.
