Hey, just built my new pc, was sitting overclocking and wanted to play some CS, started up and had under 200 fps. I made sure i had drivers and such, nvidia 3D graphics also, and also disabled Xbox game dvr thing... Still got 200 FPS. Then i thought it could be something with my overclock, so i reset to default in bios and now fps is <170 at all times. Also tabbing in and out is EXTREMELY slow.

Specs:
16 gb ram (Trident)
1070 8GB
i7-8700K
Asus Prime z370-A

Monitor is connected to gpu, not mb, every driver i could think of is up to date, power settings on performance.
(Temps are fine)

Benchmark (Without the CPU Overclock)

The "9.31%" performing thing, is a usb i forgot to unplug :)

Benchmark (With 4.8 Ghz Overclock)

Please help me out, cant stand playing with this FPS :/

how fast is your ram?

i think cs is heavily dependent on platform (CPU single thread, and memory speed)

cs:go is quite optimized in a sense that you would get similar performance with 4 year old r9 380 and a top of the line 1080ti. (believed me, i found it very disappointing too)

i would say, oc your cpu and ram, and see if that helps or not.

My friends with 8600K' are runnign stable 500 fps, and mine should do aswell. For a brief period mine ran 600, though i dont know why, i didnt change anything and its back down to around 170....

I dont know what happened, i booted up the pc again to try to fix it, and everything works flawlessly. 500 fps, didnt do a thing. Thank you guys for coming up with possible solutions though ;)

I've had serval problems lately with CS:GO myself, had like 450average FPS on benchmark test, and now lately i notice stutter lags, and i get an avarge fps of 330, i even drop to 250 from time to time. so weird, was used to be on 500.
