I just finished building my pc today. My motherboard is a ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
I'm currently experiencing difficulty getting the sound to work. I have all my drivers installed, and I'm able to select my audio device, but no sound can be heard no matter what I plug into the audio jacks. Whenever I play videos on websites such as YouTube, my computer shows that sound is being produced, but I do not hear it. Whenever I change the balance with my headset plugged in, I can hear the small static in my headset changing from ear to ear, so I know the jacks are at least doing something. There is also sometimes a high pitched squeal noise from whatever is plugged in.

My setup is
M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
Asus HD 6850
Phenom II 965 x4 CPU
Raidmax 730w power supply
Windows 7

I'm just wanting to use the on board sound card. Everything else in my computer is working great!

I ended up purchasing a sound card from Office Depot for twenty bucks. It's working flawlessly. I'm not sure why the on board sound won't work, but as of now, I don't care. If I ever do find out why, I'll edit this thread for anyone who comes across this.
