Hello,

I am a mediocre gamer. Love to play racing (forza) , fps (call of duty), gta games.

I have an old NEC 19 inch monitor (Model 1970NX) with native resolution 1280x1024 lying in the store.
My gpu is GTX 1660 super with ports 1xDP, 1xHDMI, 1xDVI.

Just out of curiosity, I tried pairing the old NEC monitor with new Benq GW2283 which has native resolution of 1920x1080 and tried enabling nvdia surround and tried gaming.
Surround resolution got set was 2,560x1024 (I believe it take the lowest native resolution monitor's width and multiplied by 2).
Tried playing GTA5 and Forza 7. It felt nice. I was getting close to 60FPS and no lag at all.

I am thinking, having 3rd Benq GW2283 monitor, would improve the overall experience. Its cheap.
I can set NEC in the middle, Both Benq's left and right. If my calculation is right, I would get surround resolution of 3840x1024.
Worst case, I can still play with 2xBenq's with surround resolution of 3840x1080.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I did the setup as described above.
Tried gta 5, forza 7, dit 4, cod ww2, far cry new dawn. All were playable with avg 60fps.
I was bale to achieve 5760x1080, middle monitor display is slightly dissorted due to its weird aspect ratio. But definitely it’s immersive.

Note: 2 monitor setup is not good, as the middle bezel will cause issues when playing.
