[Solved] Pc to pc communication with straight cable cat6

Hi,

I need to transfer files from my old laptop to the new one. Unfortunately, the old laptop's usb port is not working, and I don't have a crossover ethernet cable!

I do have a straight ethernet cable though, which I have connected, but I'm not getting to transfer the files.

Can you help?

Are both connected via a router or a hub?
Put them in the same workgroup in Windows.
