(Solved)Screen goes black after MOBO Splash screen after PSU upgrade

I'm not exactly certain whether this is the correct place to ask this, but yesterday I upgraded my 5½ -year-old PSU with a RM650x. My computer is a intel 4570, GTX 770, B85M-G. Everything seemed to work fine throughout the entire day after the upgrade. I even did a simultaneous GPU and CPU stress test that ran for 10 minutes and everything worked fine.

But when I turned on the computer this morning I get a black screen with just a line (-> _ <-) in the middle after the regular Asus motherboard splash screen. Does anyone have any idea as to what might have happened and how I could possibly fix it?

How the black screen looks: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h0m22z1tekzao8a/IMG_20190102_082533.jpg?dl=0

For further information:
- I can hear the GPU and chassis fans spin up. The rear chassis fan gets its power directly from the motherboard.
- I'm only getting out from the GPU video output plugs, and the motherboard video plugs give me a black screen.

- The keyboard and mouse are not getting any power, and LEDs are not lighting up
- I've never had previous instability issues, so this one probably stems from a mistake during upgrade, though it puzzles me why the computer worked just fine the day before.

At this point I'm not even sure as to where the error is, the motherboard, PSU or perhaps the third place...

I very much appreciate any help you guys could provide =)

Try starting the computer without any usb devices attached, including mouse/keyboard and see if that does anything.

Sounds silly, but i ran into a similar issue on a familys computer where their wireless mouse dongle stopped a pc from booting.

I tried it, it didn't seem to do anything.

I went over the list, and a possible issue could possibly be that I was working on a carpet. Could this possibly have damaged my motherboard, and the damage had a delayed onset?

The thing that confuses me the most about all of this is that the computer was working just fine for 12 hours the previous day.

If it's truly is a damaged motherboard I wouldn't mind buying a new one, but I don't know how to confirm or deny that this truly is the case.

I have no idea what happened, but as I opened up my computer to look inside and booted it up with an open side panel it booted up just fine.

I'm a bit confused as to why this even happened, but it seems to be solved. So thanks for the help, and I apologize if the resolution was a bit anticlimactic.

Seems pretty strange LOL.... Just make sure all your wires are snug and secure. Best of luck to you, glad things are working.

Honestly speaking, the wires bending in a wrong way or something so as to interfere with the motherboard seems to be the only thing I can think of that could have caused the issue. I will continue to monitor the situation, but for now I've marked the thread as solved
