[Solved] Trouble installing GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Hello,
I am having trouble installing a Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti video card into a PowerSpec B634 desktop computer with integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500. The GTX 550 Ti plugs into a PCI-E X16 bus port which the PowerSpec supports. However, when I hook everything up and turn the computer on, the monitor does not display. The monitor acts like the computer is not even on. When I unhook the GTX 550 Ti video card then the monitor works again and the computer boots up normally.

I'm not sure if there is a problem with the video card support or maybe the integrated Intel HD 2500 graphics is conflicting with the Nvidia card.

System specs...
Power Supply: 500w
Memory: 8GB DDR3 Ram
CPU: Intel i5 core, 3.1ghz
Harddrive: 2tb


Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

When you have the card installed, make sure you plug the monitor into the card's graphics port and not the integrated graphics port.

Is the monitor on the proper input (VGA, DVI, HDMI, etc)?

Did you hook up the 6-pin PCIe power cable to the graphics card?

Also - when I looked up your PC on google, it said 250w PSU, did you upgrade the PSU to a 500w? http://www.powerspec.com/systems/system_specs.phtml?selection=B634

Problem solved! I didn't have the monitor plugged into the DVI port on the graphics card. Noob mistake. The monitor didn't come with a DVI cord so I had to go buy one. Now that I have it everything works great.
