Okay, So i'm pretty tech savvy, I do it for a living but this is baffling me.

I have a Panasonic Viera TX-P42S20B with Duplication from my main monitor (which has no issues but for reference it's an Acer P225HQ. I recently had a problem where the TV was freezing after a couple minutes of use. like just hanging as if it had blue screened (for example). The sound would cut out and just a high pitch noise would come out of it as the sound frequency was stuck on (Also like some blue screens) but the actual PC was fine, I'd turn the Acer back on, and my PC would still be playing the Film/game that i would have been watching/playing. After this I then has an issue where the tele was recognizing input, but not displaying anything on the actual Tele, I changed cables, checked GPU (Nvidia GeForce GTX550 using the latest Nvidia R331.83 Driver) was seated correctly, changed socket on GPU and on TV and still no luck, So I had a little brainwave, Okay, let's re-install the graphics driver! yeah, that's a great idea! Done a clean install and hey presto! It worked!

But the issue with the freezing after 5 or so was still apparent, and for the life of me I can't figure out what's wrong with it. Like I've said, I've changed cables ect and still have an issue. Is this because the new nvidia driver is complete dog? or something else to do with the system.
Specs Below:

EVGA GeForce GTX550 1GB GDDR5
G-Skill Ripjaw DDR3 @ 2166MHz (XMP Enabled)
Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHZ
MSI GD55-Z77A 1155 Socket, Military Class 3 Mobo

Any help GREATLY appreciated.

NOTE: XBOX360 Works fine!

Solution

Then rollback some older Driver and see the problem is solved ......
They're connected to the same power strip. The Xbox and TV work fine together on the power strip, but If I can, I'll try and test the TV using another PC (If I can get hands on one)

Rolled back to 320.49 Driver, and have No problem.

So to Anyone else having this problem, and have recently updated to Nvidia's "Game Ready" Driver... Roll it back, it may be game ready, but it isn't Life ready. I've complained to Nvidia stating that they should probably now invest in product separation instead of integration, As Older GPUs are seeing more problems with the newer, larger drivers, as it intergrates every feature that comes with every GPUand it is clearly causing problems. I've only got a GTX550ti but even still they shouldn't be making mistakes like this. Hopefully a new and updated "Life ready" driver is released

Only marked as solution, to close thread, Rolling back did work, but doesn't explain the issue
