Hi all,

I have recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU from a Asus P5n-E SLI with Intel quad core q6600 processor and geforce 550 ti graphics card and 6gb ram

to

AMD A10-6790K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3992 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) and 8gb ram.

before on the old board i was able to play most games on medium to high graphics including battlefield 3,4 and Fifa 14,15.

Now with the upgraded board and better graphics card I'm struggling to even start a game in Fifa 15 but I'm able to run battlefield 4. Just a lately i have started getting serous lag on games and not sure why. My CPU hits 100 and my power settings are on max performance.

even put bios to default, all windows updates have downloaded and installed, even changed nvidia settings to make Fifa run a BIT BETTER...

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS

Solution
in device manager you need to update the drivers for your cpu, possibly deleting them first and then refreshing to find the new one. You do know what I mean by device manager?
yeah had to reinstall as i had deleted some files and it wouldn't boot properly or didn't sometimes.

I typed msconfig and changed the processor to 2 in the drop down menu. and even the software that came with graphics card had a booster on which moved to 4.2ghz and still it didn't make any difference.

according to my system info it says

Processor AMD A10-6790K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3992 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

is that not correct?

it says this for my graphics card

Adapter Type GeForce GTX 750 Ti, NVIDIA compatible
Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

I'd seen it on a website to improve performance. i have put to auto but the box only has 2 cores for the options in the drop down menu.

on task manager it has 4 boxes
cpu total 100%
service cpu usage 100%
cpu 0 @0%
cpu 1 @100%

im only on desktop and have firefox open.

does this help?

I think you should seeing cpu's 0-3
does your bios limit the number of cores?
have you rebooted after msconfig set to auto?
