Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs

Hello guys, I have built a computer and using PCPartPicker to build my computer and this message below appeared today.

'Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs.'

Must Upgrade my BIOS or no need ?

I can only laugh. You provide no details on the motherboard or the processor and you want an answer?

I would imagine you will find out when you assemble your parts. We have no way of knowing for sure what BIOS your board will have.

I found the BIOS for the motherboard. The BIOS came out in 2013 so I would think the new mobo's have the new BIOS loaded on there. Although I am not 100%, the motherboard should be fine.

i find my mtherboard BIOS info and i have version : american megatrends inc. 2601, 24/03/2015
At asus site support CPU says for my cpu M5A97 R2.0 BIOS 2601- 2015.05.12 update
must download this and update my motherboard with flash drive ?

If it has a 2015 BIOS, it should boot fine with a Vishera. Up to you if you want to update it or not. It shouldn't be necessary.

hm thank you but my pc while working normally freezes anywhere anytime and I can not do anything, only press power button. maybe this problem is from bios update or has nothing to do ?
