Some bugs I've never seen before

1. Cassandra was sick and needed the day off. She called into work, but
instead of her boss's picture being next to the message saying it was
okay to stay home, it was Alexander Goth, who was only a child at the time!

2. Despite the fact that all the Pleasant women are dead, other Sims
keep getting messages that "So-and-so and Mary Sue Pleasant are no
longer friends," or "So-and-so and Lilith Pleasant are no longer
friends." Yet they're out of the phone cue, so the conversation could
continue from beyond the grave even if the Sim wanted it to.

3. I had the headmaster over at the Goth house trying to get little
Bella enrolled. Things were going splendedly -- 75 out of 90 points
already, and this was less than halfway into the party and before the
meal was even served. The headmaster sat down to eat and suddenly
vanished, along with the little indicator on the side of how the party
is going. So things were never resolved and Bella never got into
private school. Next day I had Mortimer invite the old fart over again.
He said okay but never showed up. Next day same thing. I then
discovered that even after he said yes, there was still an "invite head
master" option on the phone pie menu. I chose it again. In fact, I was
able to continually invite him and get his reassurances he'd be there at
five sharp, but he never showed up. I finally had to use a cheat to get
the little girl into private school.

4. Darren Dreamer can't call in sick. The image jumps, just like the
party option used to.

Oh, and one thing I'd never seen before. I always saw Sims hang up the
handset when done talking, but I caught Darren laying it on the floor,
with the option to hang it up again later or answer it from the floor
when it rang again. Hmph!

I have thqat happening a lot in a house I am playing. I am doing that ten
generation legacy challenge thing and the three dead generations get more
phone calls than the living. I had had this problem all of once before but
now my sims spend hours answering the phone for the dead. Sigh.
>
As far as putting the phone on the floor goes my sims do that a lot. Odd you
never saw it before. I guess there is a lot of variation in what sim
behaviours different players actually see.

I wonder if having hacks in the game is causing some of these problems.
I've had
some of those you described. But..........I won't give up my hacks!! :)

Whoops, I meant "the conversation *couldn't* continue from beyond the
grave even if the Sim wanted it to."

Never seen anything like this - sounds weird.

I've heard of this one - poor coding on Maxis part. When all the
relationship points below friendship this one will disapear of it's own
accord.

Another Maxis bug - there is a third party hack to fix this and other
unanswered phone bugs at MTS2.

Never heard of it. Maybe the above fixes it too, or not . . .

That's normal - something to do with tidy or lazy points.

I've seen this one a few times - mostly within one family. It strange when
the phone rings, no one will answer it and you have to hunt for where the
last sim left it. Kind of like real life! Never happens with the TV or
stereo remotes, though.

Uh....I always click on the phone (on the wall/table), even if the handset
itself is elsewhere...the sim always finds it.

I've looked but not found it at MTS2. What patch do they have that fixes
this problem?

Took me some time to find it again too - and I knew it was there and who
wrote it. Try http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=37072 There may be
a later version, but I don't think so.

Does that fix the vanishing headmaster problem, or is it simply a mod that
allows you to call him up for another chance, hopefully getting him to stay
through the whole visit this time?

I suppose either way would be an improvement, so thanks.

[headmaster invitation trouble]

I have that in one family. What cheat did you use?

I have two sims who do that all the time. Especially my Harrison is
too lazy to walk the handset home...

Cheers!
