So, i currently have the following PC specs:

AsRock Extreme4 970 Motherboard
AMD FX 8120 Black Edition CPU
G.Skill RipJaws 1600Mhz CL9 4x4 = 16GB RAM DDR3
Sapphire Radeon 6970 2GB DDR5
Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD
TACENS PS 850W Silver80
NOX Coolbay TX Docking USB 3.0

I wanted to upgrade the PC with the new Pascal Graphics cards coming out, but i would like to start buying now the other parts, as i want to upgrade CPU, MOBO and Graphics card.

So, the main question is:

Would you go for 4790k + MSI Gaming 5, or would you go for Skylake? I was looking at the 6700, as i do not inted do to epic overclock (Or not do any at all) so there's like no point to buy the 6700k (and the budget increment it represents).
Some people has suggested me the 6700 BUT, the question is, will Z170 MOBOS accept my DDR3 RAM? Because i'm not planning to buy new ones and i wanted to know.

So please, if anybody knows if any MSI z170 mobo supports ddr3 RAM, or you think 4790k+msi gaming 5 is best (Considering i'll building later with a pascal graphic card), tell me something on the coments! :)

Thank you all

If you just gaming why not go with the I 5 4690k you don't need all those extra threads for gaming and most don't use all the performance from a I 7 4790k while gaming... If you go skylAKE you may see a big 5% plus performance increase but yeah the boards do cost more and your best bet is DDR4 MEM.
There are some motherboards which support DDR3 ram, but its suggested to be DDR3L for lower voltage, because Intel have said that high voltage kills the CPU slowly but surely (DDR3 runs at 1.5V, DDR3L runs at 1.35V and DDR4 runs at 1.2V, that's why it's recommended to go for DDR4). If you don't want to change ram go for the 4790k, it is likely to give you even better performance than the 6700k.
