So im having a issue where some games have minor lag when I stream and others don't. For example

Rainbow six siege I get solid stream and gameplay. Ping stays between 40 and 60ms in game ping counter.

Player unknowns battlegrounds every few seconds it lags me forward like it skipped a frame.

I am using a dual PC streaming setup.
First I'm going to give you all the details.
One PC is gaming
•i7 4790k 4.4ghz
•8gb ram
•gtx970
• 2 monitors in extended mode, one is 27' ROG Pg278qr 144hz other is 23' AOC 60hz

The GPU is also connected to a Huappauge HD PVR 2 which is registers as a 3rd monitor that is cloning the first monitor.
That then feeds the video and audio into a second computer running xsplit.
•i7 4860hq
•32gb ram
•GTX980m

My fiber internet is
11ms ping
17-20mb down
5-6mb up

Streaming at 3000kb bit rate. 720p 60fps.
Any idea how to fix this lag that only appears in certain games without butchering my stream quality?

Hi,

With your specs you shouldn't have any issues at all!
If that is in fact lag, my best guess would be something bandwidth related... assuming you're not sharing your bandwidth or downloading stuff in the background, is your connection wired or wireless?

I've experienced something similar last year around xmass but it got much worse over time. After checking everything I could think of I decided to get a much better router but even then, the only fix was a wired connection. I didn't have any issues till then with wireless gameplay/streaming...

Hey it was a case of congestion. I was streaming at a bit rate of 3000kb to 3500kb. My upload was 5 to 6 mbps. The game i was noticing it on was playerunknowns battlegrounds which has a bad tick rate. The tick rate is about 10 to 15 where other games are 60. On top of that it is huge chunks of data on each tick. Recommemdations are to have twice the upload speed of your bit rate. So I would say the game upload and the stream upload were fighting for dominance on my net. I dropped it to 2500kb and the issue stop however the quality took a hit. It only seems to be mmos like battlegrounds or ARMA. FPS games like R6 siege don't seem to be affected. Oh and it's wired. All wired connection

Yeah I second that recommendation but mostly because the stats provided by ISPs aren't guaranteed unless you pay for it... your actual game upload should be insignificant compared to your stream ...unless I'm missing something!
