Hi all
PC specs first:
i7 3770k
16gb RAM
4 x SSDs & 1 HDD
GTX 980ti
I'm having an issue with two games in particular, Fallout 4 and Forza Horizon 3.
Very rarely the games will load up in a matter of seconds, as they're both installed on an SSD. When they do load quickly I can see that the Disk utilisation is high which tells me that the data is being accessed.
On most occasions it'll take around 70-90 seconds to load the games, and in these instances the Disk utilisation is effectively 0% except for some standard blips where it'll hit 1%. Moments before the games load up, the disk usage goes up to 80% and I'm in the game.
As the title suggests, the games run fine when loaded. Forza lets me fast travel to different areas of the map nearly instantly and disk usage reflects this (high usage). Fallout 4 is generally a mixed bag and can take a minute or a few seconds (again, disk usage hits 80% or so before loading back in).
I know I have more drives than normal but both games are installed on the same SSD, yet loads of other open world games are also installed on that drive and have no problems (The Witcher 3, Far Cry 4). I have reinstalled both games and would do what I can to prevent having to do this again (huge download files).
Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?
Thanks for reading!
