Hello!
I have some spare HDD's and SSD so I decided to try to use them as storage drives using hard drive dock. The problem is that docking station recognizes some HDD's and SSD but won't recognize other HDD's.

Dock : ORICO 3.5" SATA USB3.0 Hard Drive Dock (6139U3)
Recognized SSD :

  • Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB 2.5"
Recognized HDD's :

  • Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB SATA 6Gb/s
    Samsung SpinPoint M8 ST500LM012 500 GB - SATA 6Gb/s
Unrecognized HDD's :

  • Seagate BarraCuda ST3250410AS 250GB 7200RPM 16MB
    WD Green 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM

I have tried changing USB port of docking station, didn't helped. I can hear HDD working when I turn it on but it doesn't recognize it on my laptop. Other disks will open up automatically in windows. I'm not sure if Seagate's 250GB disk was working but I know WD 2TB was working until 2 weeks in my latest PC build.

Laptop specs :
Acer Predator Helios 300
CPU : Intel i5-8300H
GPU : Nvidia GeForce 1050Ti 4GB
Memory : Intel 1×8GB
OS : Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

Thanks for the help !

I think I have solved this issue.
Now, I don't know what causes this or why does it happen but I did this :
Downloaded Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics (https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=3&lang=en)
and then connected hdd via my docking station. While my laptop did not recognized it, WD LifeGuard did, then I've just erased all on my HDD and entered Disk Management and created New Volume. Then disk finally showed in My Computer and everything is fine now.

P.S. I have found out that it appears in Disk Management by itself without erasing it's content via WD LifeGuard. But, it isn't showed in list of disks, you can see it at bottom of the window. Idk how else to explain it XD. Here is the pic : http://prntscr.com/lrl3k4

I think that problem was that HDD's were completely erased and were recognized as "Unallocated" so that's why my laptop could not read it for some reason. Please respond what you think about this, is it logical thing to happen or some weird thing. Thank you !
