I've not decided on a cpu cooler, optical drive, operating system or a power supply and i frankly have no idea what to choose or if i even need a cpu cooler. And I also dont know if im getting the best 'bang for my buck' could anyone advise me on this?

i should also mention RAM, from what ive heard there really isnt much difference between sets. So i should go for the cheapest one i can find?

The included CPU cooler will do fine unless you're going to overclock, or unless you want the system to be extremely quiet. The only cooler I ever use aside from the oem is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, if your case can accommodate it. It provides amazing cooling capability for only $30 or so.

I'm not the best person to ask, as I abandoned AMD after Intel finally got their act together and came out with the Core 2 Duo. The memory, case, and HDD seem good and are good prices, as is Windows 7. Not familiar with the motherboard, but I usually buy Gigabyte boards myself, and the price seems really good. Not familiar with nVidia video cards, I've been exclusively ATI for a long time now. I'm sure one of the guys who are up to speed on the latest video cards and AMD CPUs will be able to tell you more.
