Some help troubleshooting please!

Just built my first system in a long while, and it has not resulted in immediate success!

All of the fans come on, along with all the case leds etc, and the hard drive activity light flashes on for a moment, with a solid light on the motherboards led. There are also no error leds on the mobo (so grfx is installed properly), and the grfx fan is spinning. However, the screen displays nothing (just a message about check the connection), and none of the capslock etc leds on the keyboard will respond. There are no beeps issuing from the motherboard, so I can't check the manual to see what is wrong.

"none of the capslock etc leds on the keyboard will respond."
checked that kbd and mouse are connected in proper ps2 [??] connectors and do have leds to light up?? nice system you got there ,except for the samsung hdd,personally if it is not a wd,seagate or hitachi,,then it does not exist,personally that is ,re:mobo beeps,should beep at least once upon completion of bios teast/setup,,do check all your connections both inside and out of the case..
