Some installers won't open

Hi.

I recently bought a new laptop and some installers won't open for me. I think 3 programs so far utorrent being the latest.

When i double click on it, I get the little circle near the cursor (whatever it's called) for a second then nothing happens. Utorrent is in the task manager but nothing else happens.

Any ideas what's causing it and how to fix it?

Try pressing windows key + P and make sure Project set to PC screen only, it might be showing on a non existent screen

Windows key + p does nothing. The display switcher does not appear.

that is unexpected... could try upgrading graphics card drivers

Do any of the windows appear if you hold alt tab?

right click start button
choose command prompt (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter

this scans system files and may fix this behaviour

I did uninstall of the drivers 2 days ago then reinstalled them so i don't think that's it.

Alt+Tab works fine.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

The issue persists.
