I made my build on pcpartpicker and it came with this "Some Intel X79 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Ivy Bridge-E CPUs." What do i do to get the BIOS updated can i use a flash drive or do i have to send it to msi to update the BIOS. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3cPvM there is my build.

Like Phillip said, the motherboard manufacturer's website usually has the BIOS update on it. I have a Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 and out of the box it came with the correct BIOS (F4) to run Ivy-E CPU's. Just make sure to go to the manufacturer's website to check first if Ivy-E support has been supplied on the board that you are looking into.

Also, for your CPU, I recommend Micro Center. Here is the link to their pricing vs. the 310ish that you were willing to pay:

This meassage basicly means that this motherboards is somewhat old and/or may have been sitting on a shelf for a long time.So the BIOS of the said motherboard may be outdated. The simple solution is to just install the newest BIOS version.
