Ok so. I have had an HTPC in my living room for 12 years. The PSU on it exploded a few days ago, and I'm feeling like its time to buy a new one.
The problem is.. I'm not sure which parts to buy because I'm not sure exactly how this PC was connected to the sound system in my living room ... this system was set up by a friend of my parents when I was in elementry school so I'm not so familiar with audio connectors back then ;s

I will provide some pics and hope you can help me figure this out ;/
I have this Yamaha RX V-650 "AV Reciever" thing that has all the speakers in my living room connected to it. A cable went from this device to my pc from this port http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=ejwysn&s=8#.VK_sqPnhl0w
with cable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Monster-Cable-Interlink-Datalink-100-1-meter-Digital-IDL100-1M-/361178733219?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5417ee1aa3 [digital coaxial cable]

to this card that was in one of the pcie slots on the motherboard : http://i62.tinypic.com/opwqza.jpg
to the spdif plug :

Now if I were to buy a new pc.. what would it need to have so I can connect this sound system to it ? ;s
Are there maybe sound cards that have this plug ? ;s

I have a Asus Xonar Essence STX which is serving me well.
It has your connection covered.
(be sure to select the right output in the driver controller)

May be a bit overkill, but it pleases me.

Tough you'd need two of those cables, on for L and R (these are usually combined in one with split heads)
Red on red, white on white.

As for HTPC's i usually find them a bit overpriced for what they actually put in there.
Might be worth it to try DIY; a good mini-ITX barebones case, some Noctua cooling fans and off you go.
If you haven't built a PC before it could be a bit of an undertaking tough.
