Hi,
I just bought and built a new PC.
i7-4770K running at stock speed,
ASUS Z87-K motherboard
Kingston Hyper 2400 DDR3 2 x 4gb cards (listed on ASUS site as supported by the motherboard).
Sapphire HD7950 3GB
750 Watt PSU
I am very pleased with the speed improvement over my last setup, but I'd appreciate any advice on a couple of points:
1) when I go into the bios setup, the mouse does not work, unless I unplug other usb devices first. Not a major problem, but it seems strange to have to do that, is it normal?
2) there are three 'easy settings' which can be used instead of going into the advanced menu:
1) power saving, 2) normal, and 3) optimal.
If I select optimal and save & reset, the computer fails to restart. I have to then shut down, start up again, and I then get the message 'overclock failed, press F1 to enter setup'.
Is this normal?
It's not the end of the world as I am not wanting to overclock at the moment, but I would like to eventually put a better air cooler on and tweak it up, but only slightly, but this doesn't make it look too promising.
EDIT, apologies, I'm new to the site, I probably should have posted this in the Z87 thread which I have just found.
