Some of my "used" monitor is purple on one side

I just got this monitor used it looked fine when i picked it up there was no colours like.... broken or purple but on one side there is a purple tint to the monitor im unsure if it is the gpu's fault but no other monitor is doing this and im using the same cable. after i have posted this i will try 2 other HDMI cables i have

Seems pretty clear the monitor is defective...do you have anything next to it like a microwave that could cause interference ? other than that I would say take it back...

I did not buy this monitor i got it for free from a guy who was moving (A family members friend)
So therefor i cannot return it and to be honest the purple is not as intense as you would think its really only noticeable on a white background such as TomsHardware site.
