hi every one i am pretty much a dummy with this stuff so really could use some advice
i am attempting to build my son a kind of gaming pc but i am lost in the sea of different components
he wants one thay he can play fortnite mine craft rob-lox ect i will be starting from scratch
what i need help with is motherboards and compatible cpu and ram i have seen a Intel Core i5-2400 (3.1Ghz) cpu but not sure if it will be compatible with ddr4 ram or indeed any good at all
if any one could give me some advice in dummy language haha i would be very grateful

It does not use DDR4-memory. That is a year 2011 model for Socket 1155 motherboard. You can find motherboards that old for sale on eBay. The H61 Chipset is the low-end economy model Chipset.

so would you say that the cpu i mentioned is no good.
i can find lots of motherboards for sale but dont want to and can not afford high end cpus, think i read that the games mentioned need ddr 4 ram but again no idea so been looking for ddr 4 motherboards
