Some prescotts are EM64T enabled right now??...

...or at least that's why I got from <A HREF="http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=19200" target="_new">this article.</A> Some of the now-shipping prescotts can have their EM64Tness enabled.

I wonder if x86-64 execution mode is actually accelerated, like in AMD64, which was made to execute that code seamlessly?...

That's the big question for me. I'm hoping anandtech will do a test on EMT64 under Linux with 32 and 64bit apps like they did with AMD64 so we can get an idea.

Initial tests doesn't look very good for EMT64 at all. BUT, the key caveat is, there may be special optimizations for EMT64 that are different from Opteron that haven't been utilized yet in under Linux.
