Some programs don't work!

Hello everyone,
I have this strange problem. Today I came back home and then I realized that my skype was off. Tried running it, but it didn't work. Then I tried opening Internet Explorer. Didn't work too. I don't know what could be the problem? In the morning it worked fine - skype, internet explorer. In the morning I saw that there was an update (it was a windows x64 update) I installed it but I didn't restart my computer. When I came home skype was off (It was on in the morning)

I don't really know what to do.
Can you guys help me?

Have you tried opening up task manager and looking at background apps, then closing everything there?

didn't work? does it give you an error? look at the event log too.

Yeah, it gives me an error. It says that uTorrent has crashed and a dump has been saved somewhere. Skype just opens and then crashes, IE opens up and it says that there's a problem with this webpage caused IE to close. What the hell is happening with my computer.

look at windows update to see what was the last update.

use the restored point to back to before the last windows update.

Okay, I restored my laptop. Now everything works fine. So I guess I should hide those updates?

they are the security update. I wouldn't use IE anymore. use Firefox or Chrome.
