Do I need a product key for Windows 8.1 if I have created a bootable USB thumbdrive with the Win 8.1 Media Creation Tool and I install it to my soon to be built PC?

Yes, without it the install wont register and will not activate. After a short time functionality becomes limited and the computer will not update. You need a license key for each Windows install.

Ok. I have one more question. If I buy a physical copy (a DVD) of Windows 8.1, can I use the product key that comes with it to install it with the USB that I have installed Windows on?

I can't download Windows 10 because my CPU doesn't work with Windows 10. And is KMSPico legit? Is it legal?

It's not clearly legal but you will get updates normally and u can do everything like in legal activation.
Note: Win 10 works on all CPUs.
