I found a 4Gb 2400Mhz for $27. Would it make a difference if I buy two 4Gb sticks instead of one 8Gb stick. Two 4Gb stick would cost me $54 and one 8Gb stick would cost me around $70. Is there a difference besides the price. The 4Gb stick is Patriot Signature. The 4Gb sticks are not a kit. I am going to buy them separately. Thanks!

Solution
Its makes no difference whether you run a single stick or in dual channel. In fact running dual channel on a dual channel board is more optimal and would work better for you. The only flip side is that when you buy separately and not in a kit, there could be difference in timing leading to compatibility issues. But more often than not, two similar sticks with identical specs do work.
