Some software ignores my carefully configured Explorer settings Win 11 Pro

I like the appearance of File Explorer to be just right. I like a Last Modified heading rather than Date for example. Also for Explorer to open on This PC rather than something else, I've removed the dreaded Quick Access and History etc and so on.

This is fine when using my desktop but some applications ignore this setup. If I use a third-party app and want to open a file from within it, it displays a different style setup explorer. Very irksome. I've tried several Explorer alternatives and a few are OK but again are ignored by software which always opens Explorer. Anyway, I want to stick to Explorer as it happens.

Does anyone have any insight into my issue, please?

Win 11 Pro desktop PC, up-to-date etc.

What you're seeing with these app is the file dialog, which despite similar appearances, is not the same as File Explorer.

As far as I know, there's nothing that lets you customize this or sync it up with how File Explorer treats that folder. And how you set the view tends to be per-app so if you set it one way for one app, another app will see it another way (usually the default if you didn't do something already).
