Some weird cables I could use.

Hey, I've found these cables in my garage:

At first I thought it was a mini hdmi that I could use on my console to plug in into my monitor for a better quality instead of using normal component one that sucks. But it doesn't look like to be a hdmi after reasearching some images on google. Can anyone please tell me what is it?

That is a proprietary cable that probably came with a camera. or old portable DVD player. It is component video with right and left audio. Unless you can find the device it goes with it is pretty much useless.

You will not be able to buy a cable for that. you will need to buy a converter (HDMI is Digital and Component is analog) they are about $35 USD. Selection may be thin as Hollywood and the HDMI guys were cracking down on them because they circumvent HDCP.

I've also heard about PS3′s HDCP protection. Could I like bypass it by using a simple HDMI splitter? That looks like this.

An HDMI splitter will still pass HDCP. That is the type of converter I was talking about that will allow you to convert your HDMI signal to component video, after that you can do whatever you want to do with it capture it play it back on a TV what ever you choose.
