Hello. Basically what happens was someone was able to get my ip. That's not the worst thing yet. They were somehow able to find out what steam account I have and joined my csgo game. It's possible because I have the same name on discord and probably encountered them before. All they told me was that they had my ip and called me by my first name. Should i be worried?

The most anyone can do with your IP is know the City, Country, ISP, etc, nothing more
They could also ddos (taking your internet offline)
You can always change your IP. If it's dynamic, it should change the next time your router/modem reboots, or just randomly. You can also call your provider and ask them to renew it
Also use a VPN if you want to hide your IP
But yeah don't be too worried. IP's don't have that much info anyways
The person probably just looked at your Steam account to get your first name (or other online sites you're signed up to) - I would just block them and maybe set your Steam to private and in Discord you can also add some privacy stuff as well.

Overall I wouldn't be concerned, just a keyboard warrior trying to scare you by saying they have your IP address.
Also you can try reporting them through Steam if that's how they got in contact with you :)

But how did they join my game and know i was in it... it's possible they knew I always played dust II but that's that. I was actually confused in the first place because they were able to pronounce my name right. Never happens first time. Also can they really do anything with my ip?
