Hi all, i got a problem with my pc, i just upgraded some parts i had a dell xps with a i7 920 so i just got a new mobo wich is the asus h87-plus, along with a i7 4770, a new case and a hyper x 8gb ram stick, ok thing is i instaled eveyth III g on the new case and used some parts of the old pc, the optic drives, the gpu, and the hard drive, so i kept on the hard drive the copy of windows 7 that came with it from dell, installed everything. Sistem booted, fans working nice. And when the logo of starting windows appears it freezes then a blue screen appears for like half a second and then a mssg appears telling me that windows was not able to start maybe caused by a new hardware installed. So i launched the system repair and didnt worked. Any help here please and thx.

dnx if the sata ports on the dell were set to ide the windows install you have will bsod because most new mb set there sata ports to achi mode. if it not that then use f8 safe mode and remove all of the older drivers if you can get in.

if you have the key for windows i would do a fresh install of windows. the original copy of windows will not adjust to your new equipment especially the motherboard and cpu

Windows from vista and up will bound its serial number to one specific motherboard. Once it is bound it will save the motherboards MAC address and check for it on start up. If not found or if a different one is found it will refuse to start up. The only way to fix this is to re install windows although if possible I would recommend backing up your files first. You usually can call the OEM and have your windows key reset if your are patient enough if you would like to avoid paying for a new key.

Hi. Tried to set the sata to ide and didnt worked, also rried to get on safe mode and when its loading the files its same thing stops blue screen and fails. Any ither idea? Besides the fresh windows install since i do not have the discs or key? Thx

try booting with just the onboard video and check in the bios that the ram is set to the right speed.

ram was set on 1333 so i oc it on the uefi bios to 1600 and its still dont working.

I don't often advice this but when I said "come by" I meant torrent then use a legitimate key provided by your OEM.

on the pc case should have been your dell oem number. if not there contact dell for new set of disks or ebay. for the new pc if your in school you can use microsoft edu program to get windows at a discount.
you can use digital rivers download a new windows iso image use the microsoft iso to usb tool.

Ohh, hahahaa, ok so one question, if i get any discs... i just found my windows key n. On the back of my old pc. So can i use anh disc with that key and that'll do it?

I am actually not sure. The key may have to be reset although if you want to go though with it then go for it, although I'd advise backing up anything important if possible as this will delete everything.

who can reset my key, sorry for this dumb question but when u say OEM ehat do you meam?

OEM would be the company you bought it from, in your case DELL.
