Question someone please help asus rog laptop freezing when playing games

my asus strix scar 2 laptop freezing and booting me back to the desktop after playing a game for a little while. no overheating of any kind, I did just change the ram out from 16gb of single channel to 16gb dual channel. I don't know if that's causing it though. my specs are i7 8750h cpu, gtx 1060 6gb video card, 2 ssd drives, I also changed out the data hard drive to a 1tb ssd drive please help thanks, I just ran a memory test and the ram checked out ok. I also just switched the 180w power brick out and and hooked up a 230w power brick. the 180w was under powered anyways.
