So, I really like this computer I'm planning on building, but I can't find an intel i3/i5/i7 that's quad core 4 threads. This is the build, the card in the build can run BF4 at 1080p medium/high at about 50+ FPS, WITH A GOOD CPU. So yeah, I need help from the best of the best, thanks!

EDIT: Don't pick me an i7, they're expensive, I was thinking a high end i3 - mid range i5

Jcsenter, I'm curious as to why you are so insistent on sticking with the R7 265 regardless of it's performance seeing how you could easily afford a 270x, GTX760, or 280/285?

What is wrong with this build?

In your original build, the R7 265 is not good enough, the H81 motherboard is cheap, the psu is mediocre.

A 265 will not get you 50+ fps @ 1080p. A 285 would easily.

What are my Nvidia options for gpu?

How much performance would you expect in the old build with the single r7 265 and the 4440 in Battlefield 4, what settings should I expect?

So, I'm getting mixed messages here . . .

It's hard to say for sure but I think a R7 265 would average somewhere in the 30s @ 1080p on high settings at best. The 280 or 285 is WAY better.

I agree that a GTX760 would outperform a 270x, but I don't think it would compete with a 285 which is closer in performance to the GTX770.

The R7 265 is a tad better than a GTX750ti in performance.

I've noticed that most people seem to favor the 270x over the GTX760. The GTX760 is a little better from what I've experienced.

GTX 750ti < R7 265 < R7 270x < GTX760 < R9 280/285/280x < GTX770 -IMO

How so? Straight from the article "We begin with Battlefield 4. The Radeon R7 265 can handle this game's Ultra preset, but we dialed MSAA back from 4x to 2x, set AA Post to Medium, and used SSAO instead of the more demanding HDAO setting". That setup gave them an average of 40fps.

What if I used Mantle?

That I dont know.

I see. Can't argue that. I'm just going off of my friend who had a 265 and he was not happy with it's 1080p performance in most games. He did not average 40fps in BF4. He ended up getting a 270x which he still has and has been happy with it. I actually just texted him and verified all of this.

The 280 or 285 would be a little better than the 760 though
