Recently I have built a gaming pc, Here are the specs:

Amd FX 6300-6 core processor
FXF DD R9 280x
Hyperx Fury blue-8 GB
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3
Silverstone Power Supply 600w
Bitfenix Prodigy M case

I was expecting to get great performance out of this but after loading up steam and trying out a game, the performance was terrible! It almost seems as if the game is running off of my onboard graphics rather than my video card. I'm not exactly sure what i'm doing wrong but every time i try to install the latest drivers for the graphics card i get a blue screen that says windows needs to restart. I just REALLY need help PLEEAAASSSEEEE!

Yes, if your monitor was plugged into the motherboard you were indeed running on integrated graphics. You just need an adaptor like the one in the above link. They quite often ship with graphics cards, make sure one isn't in the box!
1. What game are you playing?
2. What settings do you have the game on? For example MSAA x8, 1920x1080, HBAO etc.
3. Have you run any benchmarking and temperature software to check your system is OK such as 3D mark and Furmark and SuperPi?

I am trying call of duty world at war. I have it set at the very minimum settings and the resolution at 1024x768 and to be honest I'm getting maybe 5 frames. I currently have not ran any of those tests either

If I disable it, will I still be able to use the ports on the motherboard? I am using a VGA monitor and my graphics card only supports HDMI. I tried installing the video card graphics but it just crashes. Are the chip set drivers just the motherboard drivers?

I will go install the CPU driver now and connect my PC to a TV through the HDMI of the GPU.

So all I need to do is plug into the GPU and I will get better performance?
