Something on my PC is blocking a connection

I've been trying to get Netflix to work on my browser and I think I've located the problem to Firefox being unable to download/install widevine content decryption module plugin because something is blocking my connection to https://redirector.gvt1.com/edgedl/widevine-cdm/903-win-x64.zip specifically just https://redirector.gvt1.com


so far I've tried disabling my antivirus (AVG)
tried removing everything from my etc/hosts and I've tried connecting to the link through my phone using the same wifi and it works.

edit: I'm using Windows 7

yeah AVG, I've tried turning off the protection but I will try uninstalling it now

Try a different web browser; sometimes plugins can be weird.

Create a new user profile and see if it works.
Make sure it's an admin account.
