Something on my PC is limiting my download speed

I normally get around 70Mbps, but since I got this new PC I struggle to get 20Mpbs. I have a wired connection normally but even when I switch to wireless on the same PC it runs just as slow.

- I have tried reinstalling Network Adaptor software
- Every other device connected to the same modem runs at 70Mpbs
- I don't have AMD Quick Stream installed on my PC (That seems to be the culprit in other similar cases)

I also noticed that my PC is only utilising around 15% of my network, so maybe something is bottle necking it?

In Task Manager look for a "Name" that is consuming a higher % of CPU, Memory, Disk, or Network.

Especially anything that you did not expect to find "running".

Focus on the Processes and Performance tabs. However, browse around and watch everything - just in case....

And you can use Resource Monitor and Performance Monitor in much the same manner.

You should leave any given monitoring window open for awhile and just keep watching. Your computer slowdowns may be some app phoning home or updating. And the launch may be some "x" minutes after boot up.

What make and model network adapter? What make and model router?

Is your PC Windows 10? If so, try running the built-in troubleshooters.

As another option, manually configure your computer's network adapter. Use "Manual" vs "Auto" settings. Or try vice versa.

Take a look at what your computer is doing via Task Manager. May spot some issues therein.

Adapter: Intel(R) 82579LM
Router: BT Smart Hub, couldn't find a model number, will find if necessary though.

I am running windows 10, however the built in troubleshooter doesn't seem to help at all.

What exactly should I be looking for in Task Manager, because I have been trying to suss out if there is a program limiting bandwidth use, but not sure how I would spot if something is.
