Hello,

my specs
i5 2500k @ stock (3.3)
asrock p67extreme4gen3
8gb 1600mhz
Standard HD
EVGA SC GTX 580 @ 797/1594

I had this rig built by cyberpower pc and received it yesterday. I installed the 285.33 drivers and tested a cople of games. However I am getting pretty low fps compared to what I see online. In Deus Ex:HR (max settings) for example I am only getting and avg of 80 frames highest 110 on a 1366x768 display. When on the geforce website under optimize, it says avg. of 103 fps on 1600x1050 display. Other games are also disappointing like splinter cell conviction (max settings) getting avg 45 fps with large dips when i turn. I need help is my card faulty. I got avg 60 fps and about 1587 in the heaven 2.5 benchmark. I need to know that this is acceptable performance on this card or if something is wrong with mine.

PS this is my first desktop gaming pc and I am really new to this stuff. Please help

Your Sandybridge 2500k will live a long life at 4.8 dont worry
barring power surges and cooling failures and manafactureres defects that is
turbo at 4.8 is fine for a 2500
especially with watercooling
BTW you do know I hate you in a good way for the awesome rig you have :)
from reading the unigine thread I believe you have a good score
but ask on that thread
state your settings for bench
your system stats
and the members there will let you know if it is okay
then relax and enjoy that beast LOL

I ran the benchmark but was unable to alt tab to hwmonitor to view the usage cpu against gpu. However, I did go ahead and disable speedstep and enable advanced turbo in the bios and the fps picked up tremendously. However is this a safe alternative, does it mean my cpu needs to run at 4800.00 mhz to merely game? Thanks for answering

start HWinfo64 right before bench
look at your high CPU,GPU and core
should be relatively low
then run bench
it will log your highest CPU usage
and highest GPU usage
and highest core speeds

but I bet an upgraded monitor (1920x1080 or higher)
will make the difference

really with your rig (awesome BTW)
you really should have a higher res monitor
if their is any money left in the budget after a build like that LOL :)

So I did as you said. Heaven Bench shaders high, 8xaa, directx11,16x anisotropy everything max except tessellation normal. Intel speedstep disabled, I got cpu - highest clock 4790 on all four cores and 54.5% total usage. GPu core load 99.0%, Memory controller load 54% and memory load 47.3%.

Sorry for the double post, I'll check out the threads and see but from what i have given you do you think my gpu is ok and should I leave intel speedstep disabled, because when I do the cpu clocks it self to 4800.00 mhz. I do have liquid cooling for the cpu but I don't want to mess with its lifespan now? What do you think? Thanks so much again
