Hi all,

I have a reasonably modern PC running Windows 7 - internet has been working fine on it for many years.

I'm using a Virgin super Hub 2 and an Asus Router (for connection via powerline to the rest of the house.

I have a main PC in my office and "powerlines" connecting Home Cinema equipment sky boxes etc all round the house.

Very suddenly (from switching the PC off last night to today ) i cannot access my network on my PC .

On trying to go into Chrome of Firefox error message states - cannot find the Server .

The slightly interesting thing is that i can connect to the internet via my Tablet wirelessly and all my remote HC equipment as per normal, so it is only the PC that is not working.

There are no error messages on my Virgin Hub and all the correct lights are lit on my router .

I installed another version of Windows 7 on a spare Hard Drive and the Internet works straight away so i presume this is not a hardware issue ? although i can't face at this time re-doing my windows set up if i can avoid it so would rather mend the fault on my old Windows system.

I have tried restarting the PC / Hub/ router without any effect and whilst i was pleased with myself for setting all my rooms up i must confess here to knowing very little about networks in general and don't really know where to start .

Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what could be wrong and how i go about fixing it

Mike
