I've had my gtx 1080 for 2 years which has been working great (and it still does), however a few weeks ago i had this issue for the first time: i booted my pc for the first time that day and i could hear every sound but see nothing on my screen, the monitor would not find any input, i tried restarting a few times with the same issue, then waited a few mins and try again and it worked. After a week it happened the same thing and then again after another week, then it happened all the last 4 days in a row and today i finally see what's going on: at first it looked like it was booting normally (saw the mobo loading screen) but then it loaded into a black screen where i could only see the cursor so i turned it off, plug the HDMI in the mobo while the DVI was still in the gpu and my monitor would only recognize the HDMI, i checked the device manager and my gtx 1080 was not recognized (i could see it in "hidden devices" saying it was not connected). After about 30 mins i reboot my pc and the gpu works again.

So to sum it up:
My gtx 1080 is not recognized when i first boot the pc, but if i restart after 15-30 mins it will be recognized.
Once it's recognized it will work just fine until the next day.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

So we've looked at the voltages previously, clean installed drivers.... did you go through with reseating the graphics card and checking on connections?

EDIT: Also, what are the system specs?

EDIT 2: Also try the other PCIe slots on the motherboard to see if the issue is replicated.
Full specs?

One thing which does seem clear is the graphics driver being 'lost'. I would start with a clean installation of drivers using DDU.

The other thing to check on is PSU and the voltage the readings for the 3.3V, 5V and 12V values. This can be done via BIOS (usually) or using a hardware monitor (eg. HWiNFO) under the motherboard section.

Voltages seem to be in range of tolerance, so unlikely to be a PSU issue. That said I'm unfamiliar with that brand, so can't ascertain its quality.

If you haven't already, go through the clean installation of drivers (just to get rid of the possibility of corrupt driver). If nothing changes then try reseating it to see if it makes a difference.

I may be late for this but since it wasn't a reliable issue i wanted to wait a couple weeks before diciding it was fixed, and it seems like DDU fixed it. Thank you!

Today the issue was very persistent, it wouldn't work even with multiple restarts after an hour.
I switched PCIe slot and for now it's working, we'll see how it goes during the next weeks. Thank you again :)
