This is my sons build for school. We know the gpu is low end and plan to upgrade it this summer to a 7850. The system will be used for internet, writing papers, streaming video, playing mind craft, some video editing for you tube. All feedback will be appreciated.
 
right now on newegg the 7770 and the 650ti are selling at 104.00. i would hold off till xmass of this year for the 8000/700 cards.
for the build i would use low profile ram and use a better aftermarket cpu cooler then the stock one. if you want a pc to last then keeping the cpu cool and having clean power to it is number one. for the power supply i get a sesonic or rebranded one and up the wattage to 750w. it not the total wattage you have to watch but the wattage on the 12v line. the cpu itself is 125w at 12v is 10a. the neo if maxed out has 40a max on the 12v line.

256w max they got when they ran some tests. 250w is 25amps. so if you add them that 35amps right there for the gpu and cpu if there rated right. then you have the hard drives and keyboard taking power and the case fans. also the parts used in the power supply come into play..can the power supply give 90-100 percent output without burning out or poping. I tell people your better off buying a ps that 100-150w greater then you think to keep your gaming/work rig safe.

myself i spend a little more for the 750w unit. as the ps ages it should last many years without any issue.
 
I suggest a better CPU, for better video editing, such as an i5 or i7, but from the looks of it your budget might not be capable of it. The rest looks ok but if you buy an i5 or i7 you must get a new motherboard. The power supply is ok, but an 80 plus bronze would be a bit better.

True that's probably not obtainable on the OP's budget. You could go with an H77 motherboard and a low end Pentium - for video editing that would be a better CPU over the aging 965.
