Sony 19" CRT refresh rates problem

My monitor is a 19" Sony G410r Flatron. I have some issues with the refresh rates. Almost all resolutions are very flickery at 85Hz, esp. 1600x1200. At 1280x1024@100Hz it's usually fine, but today became virtually vibrating at some point. I had to switch down to 1152x864 and it's quite stable even though again at 100Hz...some times it is more stable. I have no idea if it depends on temperatures or whatever....

one thing that I suspect is the video card...

any ideas what might the problem be? I have no magnetic stuff around also.

check with another video card. I got the same monitor and it doesnt flicker. It's either the VID card or the monitor can be busted.
