Sony 8X4X32

My brother just bought a Sony 8X4X32 with model number CRX140E/CH2. Have anyone use this model before. He got it from Fry's, it is cheap. $99 sell price, and $30 rebate. Anyway, is this a okay burner. Will it be able to burn those copy protected CDs. And what software should he use? Information needed, thank you

Sony burners are good one. I have a 10x and haven't dropped any cd so far. For protected cd, try clone CD software or try this thread http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=15109#15109

Clone CD is an excellent program - it works for the majority of the stuff!
