It sounds to me like the ornaments are what's special, not the tree. Perhaps a control box to actually link to your phone, and then send programmed instructions to the ornaments. not a bad idea, really, since this would allow people to build up slowly rather than spend a lot of money at once. Each control box could control up to, say, 20 ornaments. You could buy ornaments over time and then expand with additional control boxes.

When did they have good TV's? Every Sony LCD and Plasma screen I have ever seen had poor picture quality. Especially when it comes to upscaling SD content. Perhaps you are speaking of the CRT days.
