Sony CPD-20SF2T failure

Hello,

I have Sony ( 😛 Model- CPD-20SF2T, chassis no- SCC-J50A-A) 20inch CRT monitor. When it turned on, the Power LED comes on green for a seconds then both power and Standby LED's are turns orange and blinks (No diaguss sound hearing & No display).

Before this error the monitor worked fine. But somehow the monitor goes to power saving mode this failure occur again. When this failure occured, I turn off the monitor and turn on after 4,5 hours later. now it's work fine. But somehow the monitor goes to power saving mode this failure occur again. It worked only 2 or 3 days. But Now that's not happend.

How to repair this problem?

LED's Indicates this "ABL protector". What is ABL protector?

I am afraid that your lovely Trinitron has died on you. Could be the electron gun or the shunt transformer. Either way it's virtually impossible to fix and if it can be fixed it will cost you a fortune. Take it to a TV repair shop but my take is that it has to R.I.P.

Thanks for your idea. But I want to kow what is that problem. And I'd like to repair it my self.

Don't you know What is ABL protector?

I am not a technician so I cannot really help you on how to fix it. My Trinitron died on me too, took it to Sony and did some research.. was not worth fixing it. In any case you need to be an electronics expert to fix it yourself.

Thanks buddy!. I like my Trinitron. So thats why i want to fix it. But the technician disincline to fix it.

I think this is the time to go to a LCD.

Well, tough luck mate. I have to warn you that the transition from a high end (even an old one) CRT to an LCD will prove somewhat frustrating. Try to find yourself a nice CRT instead. I am aware that the cream of the crop (Sony Trinitron, Mitsubishi Diamondtron et. al) exists no more but a rather good current crop CRT, say a Viewsonic, should serve you well.

I'm Back everyone. I think the problem is my FlyBack. I got some informations from technicians and some sites. To check my Flyback I don't have the diagram or datasheet. If you got some info about this Flyback, please send it to me.
